Club Information and Open Day 2022

Registrations will be open for all age groups from Monday 10th January 2022.

On Saturday 12th February 2022 the club will be holding the Club information and Open day. Time to be confirmed. The committee members will be at the ground to answer any questions and help your registration.

On Saturday 12th March 2022 will be the team’s orientation day for coaches, managers and players to formally get to know each other.

Thankyou Sue for everything you have done behind the scenes for getting kids on the park will be a massive hole to fill at Bdsfa enjoy retirementII FAREWELL - THANK YOU - ENJOY RETIREMENT - SUE SIM IIToday we bid farewell to our Office Manager and Member Protection Information Officer Sue Sim.We sincerely thank Sue for her diligent, integral and dedicated service to the BDSFA, Blacktown Spartans Football Club and Blacktown City Soccer Referees Branch Inc.Below is a small summary of Sue's time at the BDSFA:• Sue Sim commenced with the BDSFA in 1999 as the Office Assistant• Sue was the 2nd ever employee of the BDSFA• The first 10 years of Sue’s time with the BDSFA was spent working autonomously in the office, in liaison with the BDSFA Management Committee.• The Secretary of the BDSFA was Jack Taylor and Sue worked closely with Jack – initially in his role as Secretary and then from 2009 when Jack became the BDSFA’s inaugural General Manager.• Sue’s original role was to deal with all Club issues and to this day she has a passion for working with and providing service to the Clubs and their Membership.• During Sue’s employment she has worked from three different offices (Demons Sports Club, Francis Park & Blacktown Football Park)• The move to Blacktown Football Park was while the precinct was still under construction. Only Sue and Jack were able to be on site. All Board Meetings had to be held at an off-site venue.• Sue became the BDSFA’s first Member Protection Information Officer in 2005, and she still holds the role to this day. She has provided many Clubs and BDSFA Representative personnel with advice concerning a range of issues relating to the role.• While based at Francis Park, Sue was involved with the organisation of sending Association Youth League Teams overseas. There were trips to China, Vanuatu and New Zealand that were all organised on her watch. Sue was heavily involved in the fundraising for the events which included team sponsorship and raffles.• Sue fondly remembers the School Holiday Clinics that were held at Francis Park. There were regularly up to 70 kids in attendance.• Sue has been involved in Grand Final Days since starting her role. She has memories of setting up Whalan Park over many seasons.• Sue has organised the Annual Dinner since it became a yearly event in the late 2000’s. Included amongst the Annual Dinners was the 40th Year Anniversary in 2018.• In 2019 Sue was awarded the Blacktown City Council Administrator of the Year. A fitting honour for the role she undertakes and the number of years she had been in the role.• The highlights for Sue in her employment have been:1. The friendships she has made with the Club Committee’s.2. The move from Francis Park to Blacktown Football Park and the satisfaction she got from the hard work Jack Taylor and herself had put in to make the move a reality.Sue Sim leaves us after 23 years of employment. The intellectual property Sue holds will never be replaced. The BDSFA is indebted to her service to the Association and thank her for her time and dedication to soccer in our local area.Sue has stated the time is right for her to retire. We wish Sue the very best for the rest of her life’s journey. We are sure that she will be the best of grandmother’s, which will become a reality next month.Here’s cheers to Sue Sim.
